What happened this week?
This week in a nutshell…
Juniors School Councillors
It is great to see the voice of our students coming to fruition. The Noodle Cup Day was a success with many students bringing their own and enjoying eating them at lunchtime. Thank you to all the helpers on the day! It was definitely needed!
The board games requested by our young councillors were delivered on time to classrooms, as we had a few days inside last week, due to the rain.
ART
Students have been learning about Monet in Art and the tones and colours are very similar to the artist’s famous paintings.
Well done everyone!
Winter Sports
Grade 5/6 students competed against other schools on Friday, playing various sports. They were involved in T-ball, Soccer, Australian Football and Netball.
Thank you to all staff and parents who cheered on the sidelines! It looked like a fun day for our students.
Simultaneous Storytime
Last week was Simultaneous Storytime where we joined live the reading of ‘Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller’ (Authors: Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, Illustrator: Jake Minton). This has become an annual tradition as we joined thousands of schools across Australian and New-Zealand. It is such a positive way to promote reading.
Did you know that reading every night for 10-20 minutes support the development of vocabulary for your child, helps relaxing before bedtime, develops empathy at a deeper level and stimulates creativity and imagination in children?
Help us support your child by reading a story or listening to them read each night.
