What happened this week?
Week 5 Term 3 2026
This week in a nutshell…
MUSIC
Well done to Rooms 1 and 2 for their performance at assembly. Next week will be Rooms 7 & 8’s turns!
ART
Last week, I took photos of some of the artwork started by students and I thought I’d show you the progress they made! Those donuts and ice-creams look very realistic!
Mayor Cindy Madeley’s visit
The Mayor visited our 3/4 students to talk about the role of the shire council in the context of levels of government. She used to be a teacher and very comfortably jumped right back into that role when talking to our students.
Talent Show
Excellent performances from everyone at the Talent Show. The confidence and creativity to all acts were out of this world! I am very glad I wasn’t part of the judging audience, because it would have been too hard to decide! Thank you to the Junior school councillors, Mr Fasoli and Miss Hass for being our judges.
Congratulations to:
Highly Commanded award to Ayva from Room 1 for her fantastic singing.
Third Place to Alex and Eli for their entertaining jokes.
Second Place to Georgia for her great dancing and singing.
First Place to Jacko and Jack M for their rocking guitar duo. I hear they practised nearly every lunchtime to get it this perfect.
With such talent all around, I look forward to seeing the concert!
Spelling Bee
We had our School Spelling Bee Competition on Friday and all students who participated had to think hard about the words they were given. However, sadly, we can only have some going to the finals next Friday.
For year 6s, Aurora will be representing our school and for year 5s, Winter will be the one standing against other students from neighbouring schools.
Well done to everyone and all the best to our students.
You are welcome to attend the finals. It will be on Friday 21st in the library from 11:15am.
New Slide
Thank you very much to Bill and David for installing the new slide on the Senior playground. The old one needed replacing!
School Disco
This is next Friday (21st)!! The theme is ‘All That Glitters’ and we have kept the same format as the last few years with 2 sessions: one at 5:30pm until 6:45pm for the Junior students and one at 7pm until 8:15pm for the Senior students.
These are drop and go sessions where parents can drop their children and come back to pick them up. We have already many helpers for the evening and staff will be there supervising children.
You can buy tickets prior to Friday, at the office or on the night at the entrance of the multipurpose room.
SAVE THE DATE
School concert will be on Thursday 17th September at 1pm and at 6:30pm at the Heyfield Memorial Hall!
Tickets will be on sale at the office from 1st September.
Thank you to Rani for creating the tickets for the School Disco and the School Concert. They look awesome!!
