Congratulations to all the students who entered their artwork and other items into the Maffra Show. I hear cakes were entered too!

Well done to you all who received prizes. You can see Arlo Stuart, Immy Dinsdale and Kolbie Willshire featuring with their winning Artwork.

World’s Teachers Day

Thank you to all our teachers for the care, the professionalism in the work they do every day. You deserve every inch of this great celebration organised by Megan (What a gem! Thank you!)

A snapshot around the school…

So much learning…

Room 6 enjoyed doing a different type of painting as they blew air through the straws to make the paint run in various directions. They made Cherry Blossom Trees.

Room 1 learnt about divisions in Maths and shared items in groups. In Science, they made magic milk!

Room 5 practised their Indonesian using the puppets.

Room 4 students completed some writing pieces, while Room 2 created acrostic poems.

Dress-up Day

Students got to dress-up today on the theme of Halloween!

Did you know this special event is from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, and celebrates the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter? With the rise of Christianity, and days like All Saints’ Day and All Hallows’ Eve, people believed that the worlds of mortal and spirits were intertwined on those days. The modern celebrations of dressing-up and going ‘trick or treating’ were not a tradition back then, and has become more popular over the years.

Canberra Camp

Students in grades 5 and 6 left on Tuesday for their Canberra Camp and it was a great adventure! We visited the Observatory on the first night, Parliament, the High Court and the Australian Electoral Commission and Australian War Memorial on the second day, and finished with the Questacon, the Australian Institute of Sport and The Mint yesterday. The last activity was an Orienteering course at the Arboretum, which Miss Barclay and Mrs Jones won, of course!

Student Leaders in the making…

Well done to all students who stepped up to run the assembly today, while our school captains were on camp!
