What happened this week?

Let’s start with…

Happy ES Day! Thank you to all our wonderful staff who support learning at Heyfield PS. They are in the office or in the classrooms, or both. Thank you for everything.

Thank you to all staff who helped making this day special and to all students who helped us getting everything organised too!

Welcome to Amie who will be joining our team as an ES.

This week in a nutshell…

MUSIC - A message from Mr. Bartlett

Well done to Rooms 4, 7 and 8 for today’s performances! They all did really well. Next week will be Rooms 5 & 6’s turns! We will start assembly at 2:15pm.

Disco

We enjoyed a little disco on Tuesday where we aimed to dance for at least 30 minutes to tally up minutes for the fundraiser organised by Miss Camille for Dance for Sick Kids.

There were some great moves! I cannot wait to see this again at the school disco, in Term 3.

Lawn Bowls

On Monday, students learned more skills in lawn bowls, guided by volunteers from the Heyfield Bowls Club. They will be going there for three more weeks.

Vintage Machinery Rally

We had a great surprise today with the machines driving passed the school and beeping their horn to very excited children. The rally is taking place this weekend so make sure to go check it out!

Literacy Awards

Good work to Isla Fleischer and Ella Davidson for achieving 50 nights of reading! Prep students who received certificates for completing their ‘word lists’ this week are: Ava Stanley, Jammeson Jones and Maxton Richmond for their Golden words. Good work Ella Davidson for getting through her Ingido words.

In room 5, we have more students with Pen Licences! Huxley Butcher, Angus Elliott, Alana Wegmann and Lewis Turner.

Our Book Fair Colouring competition was won by: Zane Roque, Angus Elliott, Jaycob Leask, Noah Dinsdale, Rory Bean, Lilly Hassouras and Kapree Pene Ropati.

Congratulations to you all!

Cross Country

Congratulations to all the runners who competed last week at the Heyfield District Cross Country. It was a great effort. Good luck to the ones going to the next stage, in Yarram, on Monday.
