What happened this week?

A snapshot around the school…
ATHLETICS
Congratulations to Darcey Vanderland and Dusty Hamilton who represented our school at the Regional Athletics on Tuesday. Well done!
Procedural texts
Students in the 3/4 grades learned about procedural texts by following instructions to make a little parachute. They tested the strength, ‘gliding/falling’ criteria and look like it was much fun! This is a good balance or technology, science and literacy; which makes learning even more engaging and relevant.
Well done to you all.
Wednesday Activities - Science
The rotations for our Wednesday Activities have started a little different this term, with a focus on Science. This past week, grade 1/2 students made exploding monsters!
It looks like a little more than Science, and students needed to measure, read and write, collaborate, communicate and negotiate before showing some patience while waiting for the ‘explosion’!
Good work everyone!
THANK YOU
Thank you to everyone back at school for holding the fort while I was away, and especially to Mrs Jones who did a fantastic job. I think I can plan for more holidays now! She has it all under control, even assembly!
Jokes aside, it was very relaxing and comforting to be able to take time off, knowing the school was in very capable hands with one of school leaders and with the support from other staff around her. Thank you Jaimee and everyone.
