NAIDOC Week
The celebrations for NAIDOC were during the holidays so we decided to celebrate it on our return to school. It is always a nice opportunity to learn more about the culture, including games that Aboriginal people played.

This year was the 50th year of NAIDOC?
The game of AFL was inspired by a traditional Indigenous game called Marn Grook, which was played by Victorian Aboriginal groups using a stuffed possum-skin ball.
The 6,600-year-old stone house ruins and eel traps at the Budj Bim Cultural Landscape in Victoria form the oldest known aquaculture system in the world?
So many interesting facts and so much more to learn!
Wednesday Activities
The cross-aged learning program has started already for all our students! They had the chance to choose between Dance, Hands-on learning, Gardening, Making cards for Gifts of Kindness, Lego Masters, Visiting the Laurina Lodge, Game boards and Creative Drawing. However, I hear that Mrs Merlo might start another Cooking group!
The dancing group had much fun following the ‘Just Dance’ clips and the photos can prove it!
Pyjama Day
This year again, we will fundraise some money for A Better Life For Foster Kids Foundation with our PJ Day.
This will take place next Friday for our first casual clothes day of Term 3. It will be a gold coin donation.
