What happened this week?
A snapshot around the school…
Music - 2026
I’m really excited for 2026. We have so many new things happening in Music and I look forward to working with all Heyfield Primary students.
Just a reminder that we offer instrumental music lessons for guitar, keyboard, drums and now…..VOICE.
If your child is in grade 2-6 and is interested in learning an instrument, the cost is $50.00 per term for guitar, keyboard and drums, while the cost for voice is $25.00 per term.
Students will have group lessons once a week and are expected to learn their chosen instrument for the whole year. In Semester Two, our bands will be formed from these instrumental groups.
If you would like your child to learn an instrument, please let Ann know as soon as possible as places are limited and are filling up fast.
Mr Bartlett
First week back!
Welcome to our new students and staff at Heyfield Primary School!
It is so good to have you with us.
Big cheer for your first week, from left to right, at the back, we have Miss Hass, Jacko, Delaney and Emma, and at the front we have Kapree, Annie, Zane and Wyatt.
Of course, our first week was also huge for our new prep students who learnt our routines and expectations, while meeting new students and playing with old friends too.
On Friday, at Assembly they all received their library bag full of goodies. You know how much we promote reading and this is a fantastic way to introduce the love we have for books.
ART
The Art lessons have started with some great work already. Students have shown some creative ideas while collaborating on their puzzle pieces.
Recess fun
Do you wish you were a fly on the trees or playgrounds sometimes? Do you ever wonder what your child is up to when they play outside?
Well, I will try and capture some of these moments for you in the next few weeks, so you can be that fly!
Last week, some students went back to playing cricket, basketball and footy while others were showing me fantastic tricks on the monkey bars. A couple showed me their tricks at handstands and we agreed that it is a little dangerous without a mat underneath so maybe we will avoid doing this and another couple of students were doing other tricks on the straight bars. Many were running, climbing and jumping and all in good, positive and fun spirits.
All students sat nicely while eating and put their rubbish in the bins! Woohoo! Great work everyone.
