This week’s Heyfield PS Champions
AUSSIE OF THE MONTH - ‘BE LIKE TED’
MARCH
This special award has been named after Ted Artso who was a model citizen of Heyfield and active member of the Lions Club. He was acknowledged with the Australia Day Citizen Award for his commitment to making Heyfield and the world around him a better place. He volunteered for various events and he supported our school in many opportunities. To name just a few: he drove the Lions Club bus one year, to take some of our students to the Maffra Car Museum, cooked the BBQ with many other distinguished Lions Club members for our school’s 150 year anniversary and presented awards at our grade 6 graduation with his wife Sue, every year. He was known for his kind words, smiles and giggles, and mostly for his willingness to help others. He portrays our school values perfectly and will now be the face of our Aussie of the Month. Students and teachers will be able to say ‘Be Like Ted’ when referring to how we want to be, as Heyfield Primary School members. We will aspire to Be Like Ted.
For this month of March, thank you to Rory Bean and Lilly Hassouras for being a responsible representatives of our school. You each, are a positive team member who includes, encourages and listens to others. You show pride in your work and yourself through your excellent behaviour and by always trying your best.
Well done and Congratulations!
